Privacy
Your data
Short version: I only collect what I need to invite you to the pre-alpha and keep you in the loop, I never sell it, and you can have it deleted whenever you want.
Who is responsible
Checkmancer is made by Lucas da Paz (Mentalout), in Brazil. I'm the data controller under Brazil's data protection law (LGPD).
What the sign-up form collects
- Your email address (required)
- The answers you choose to give: chess level and rating, platforms, favorite army, where you found the game and your country
- The date you agreed to receive emails
To stop spam, the server also keeps a scrambled (hashed) version of your connection's IP address for up to 24 hours. The IP itself is never stored.
Why
To invite you to the pre-alpha in waves, send you test builds and development news, ask for your feedback, and understand who the players are so I build the right game. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Where it's kept and who sees it
On the server that hosts this site (Hostinger) and in a private Google Sheet that only I can open. Nobody else gets it, and it is never sold or used for ads. The site has no trackers or analytics. Its only cookie is set when you switch language, and it just remembers that choice. The page font is loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page opens.
How long
While the pre-alpha and the game's development last, or until you ask me to delete it, whichever comes first.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or to stop receiving emails, at any time. Write to lucasdapaz@mentalout.com.br from the address you signed up with, and I'll answer within 15 days.
